1Introduction

Carrdy is a career readiness platform built for college students across India. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it (including how our AI features work) and your rights over it. By using Carrdy, you agree to the terms below.

2What We Collect

Account details: name, email, phone and WhatsApp number
College details: college, course, specialization, graduation year
Career test responses and assessment results
Voice and audio recordings from AI coaching sessions, AI interview practice, co-learn calls, speaking exercises and project explanation recordings
AI conversation transcripts: text of what was said in coaching, interview and call sessions, and your typed answers
Documents you upload: resumes (PDF/DOC/DOCX) and their extracted text, job descriptions you paste, and STAR interview stories you write
Project submissions: links to your public GitHub repositories and the code they contain
Usage data: features used, progress, time spent on platform
Device and log data: device type, browser, IP address

To create your account and personalised career roadmap
To power our AI features, including transcribing your speech, generating coaching feedback, running interview practice and evaluation, scoring speaking exercises, recommending careers, and verifying project submissions
To send updates, tasks, and reminders via WhatsApp and email
To match you with internship and job opportunities
To process payments for paid features
To improve the platform

4AI Features & Google Gemini

Carrdy's AI features (the AI Coach, AI interview practice, co-learn call feedback, speaking exercises, career recommendations and project verification) are powered by Google Gemini, Google's AI service. When you use these features, we send the content needed to help you to Google Gemini on our behalf. Depending on the feature this can include:

Your voice audio, streamed live or as a recording
Transcripts of your sessions and your typed answers
Your resume text and job descriptions you add
Profile details used to personalise the experience, such as your name, education, skills and career goals
STAR stories and project code you submit

We ask for your permission before any of this is shared: the app shows what will be sent and who processes it, and you choose whether to allow it. You can change your choice anytime under Profile → AI & Your Data, or delete your account to remove everything.

Google processes this data as our service provider under Google's commercial terms, which provide the same or an equivalent level of protection as this policy. Content sent to the Gemini API is not used to train Google's AI models. Audio files uploaded for analysis are deleted from Google's file service immediately after analysis completes, and automatically expire within 48 hours.

5Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations (such as hosting, payments and messaging), and when disclosure is required by law. Every provider we share data with, including Google for the AI processing described in section 4, is bound to provide the same or an equivalent level of data protection as Carrdy.

6Payment Data

Card and banking details are handled entirely by secure third-party payment gateways. Carrdy does not store your payment information.

7Your Rights

Under India's DPDP Act, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can withdraw AI data-sharing consent anytime in the app under Profile → AI & Your Data. Write to us at support@carrdy.com to exercise any of these rights.

8WhatsApp Communication

By registering your WhatsApp number, you consent to receiving career updates, tasks, and reminders from Carrdy via WhatsApp. You can opt out at any time through platform settings or by contacting us.

9Data Retention

We retain your data, including audio recordings, transcripts and documents, as long as your account is active, so you can review your progress and past sessions. On account deletion, everything is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Audio sent to Google for analysis is deleted from Google's file service as soon as analysis completes (see section 4).

10Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via email or WhatsApp. The “Last Updated” date at the top will always reflect the latest version.
